With the Custom Currency, you can set the exchange rate to be completely manual or have an average rate from last week, month or even year, depending on what you prefer. 

Customizable Lock-in of the currency rate

Want the currency rate to be locked in after a specific point in time? With the Custom Currency you can lock in the rate whenever you want. For example, you can set it to lock in once a deal is won. Or even set it to never change if you prefer working with a fixed currency rate.

Apply separate currencies for different clients

Do you work with several different clients who operate in other currencies than you? With this add-on, you can change currency based on the client!

How does the Custom Currency work?

Starting conditions

So how exactly does the Custom Currency work? Let us go through the basics! Company X is European, and report their sales in euros. However, they have several clients operating from other countries, which means every deal related to these particular clients are valued in other currencies. To make this situation easier, Company X uses the Custom Currency to get these deal values in their desired currency.

New deal creation

Once Company X creates a new deal in their monday.com-board that is connected to the non-euro operating company, the Custom Currency automatically makes the deal value into the currency you’ve chosen for said client. 

Currency conversion

In order for Company X to then get the deal value in their own currency, the Custom Currency automatically generates the deal value in euros without you having to lift a finger.

Rate updates

Once you’ve put in the needed information for the new deal, the Custom Currency will make sure that both deal values, in euros and the clients currency, are applied according to the rate you’ve chosen (ex. weekly, monthly, yearly or fixed). 

Deal value lock-in

Lastly, you can pick a point in time where the deal value should be locked in and no longer update according to your chosen rates. For example, once the deal is finished. Or you can choose to always have a fixed value for each currency.
