In case the business card doesn’t contain a link to the lead’s LinkedIn profile, the Business Card Reader will add a link to LinkedIn with the search result on the lead’s name and company name.

How does the Business Card Reader work?

Starting conditions

So how exactly does the Business Card Reader work? Let us go through the basics! You have a CRM in monday.com and within this CRM you have a contact list with lead prospects. This contact board has columns such as name, company name, email, phone number, etc. Instead of having to manually type in all the information into each column, the add-on will do it for you. 

Phone app download

In order for the Business Card Reader to work properly, you need to download a card scanner application to your phone called SnapADDY.

Scanning information

Once you’ve downloaded SnapADDY, you can easily scan your business cards using the app and it’ll recognize the different sources of information on the card.

Transfer of information

Once the business card has been scanned through the application, the add-on will take the information and put it into its matching columns in your monday.com-board. 

LinkedIn search

Lastly, in case the business card you just scanned doesn’t contain a link to the lead’s LinkedIn profile, the Business Card Reader will add a column with a link to a LinkedIn search result on the lead’s first and last name as well as the company name.
