What is a webhook?

A webhook is an instant trigger, in contrast to scheduled triggers that periodically checks for changes to a data set. Instead, webhooks are triggered by certain events and immediately send the information for processing. This is actually one of the biggest advantages with webhooks, no wait time but instant triggering of events, and it only runs when needed – not all the time.

Webhooks are, for example, used when you want to synchronize two fields in either the same or in completely different software. In this case, a webhook is triggered when a change occurs in either system or field and triggers a scenario that will update the corresponding field to the same value. And everything is done instantly, thanks to webhooks and Make.
